On Sunday November 23, at 3 p.m. in Lansdale’s Calvary Baptist Church musicians of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra perform an afternoon of music by Mozart, Rossini, Bach, and Vaughan Williams. Advance ticket purchases are encouraged as seating is limited.
SPSO Flute Faith Wasson, Principal Clarinet Beth Vilsmeier, Principal Horn Tasha Schapiro, Principal Bassoon Eric Wilson, and Principal Percussionist Keith Wilson perform charming and virtuosic works, including Rossini’s Wind Quartet and Duet for Flute & Clarinet by Mozart in the first half of the concert. The performance continues with flashy works for marimba and bassoon, including Ney Rosauro’s Three Preludes for Marimba, a transcription of one of J.S. Bach’s popular Cello Suites for solo bassoon, and duet for marimba and bassoon by the great English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams.
“The Chamber Music Concert Series is a great opportunity to share lesser-known works but at the same to experience the virtuosity of the musicians of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra,” explains Chamber Music Curator Faith Wasson. “These matinee performances also make for a great afternoon with SPSO and a great mid-day escape.”

As one of the region’s only professional orchestras in southeastern Pennsylvania, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra presents season tickets for the Masterworks Concert Series on Saturday evenings and the Chamber Music Concert Series on Sunday afternoons. The Masterworks Concert Series features world renowned soloists and great symphonic music from Mozart and Mahler to Prokofiev, Copland, Schubert, and Ravel, along with world renowned soloists such as acclaimed Soprano Leah Partridge, celebrated Pianist Young-Ah Tak, and internationally renowned Cellist Ovidiu Marinescu.
Masterworks Concert Series
The 2025-2026 Season Masterworks Concert Series continues on February 7 as audiences will experience the heroic grandeur of Beethoven’s immortal Emperor Piano Concerto with noted Pianist Young-Ah Tak as well as the romance, drama, and heartbreak of Prokofiev’s gripping score to Romeo & Juliet.
The Third Symphony of legendary composer Aaron Copland transcends American idealism and offers a promise of hope in the season finale on May 16. The concert begins with renowned Cellist Ovidiu Marinescu and his own Concerto for Two Cellos featuring the composer and SPSO Principal Cellist Alexandra Paino.
Chamber Music Concert Series
The Chamber Music Concert Series sells out and is a must see add on to the Masterworks Concert Series. This Series allows audiences to experience the musicians of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra in an intimate setting within the same performance venue of Calvary Baptist Church. From a piano trio, marimba soloist, wind quintet, and a string quartet these concerts add to the concert experience for the community. The Chamber Music Concert Series continues with an all French program on January 11 and then string quartets by Mozart and Borodin on March 15.
